Are the raw images saved?

For V3, all raw images are retained, which requires substantial storage capacity. In contrast, the V4 system stores only calibrated images, applying downsampling and camera-to-camera correction to minimize storage demands.

As an example, acquiring data from four wells (representing four samples) on the V4 system, with 200 fields of view per sample, results in a total storage requirement of 2.91 terabytes.

Raw images may be retained for internal assay purposes but are not accessible to external users. This behavior is dictated by the configuration of the panel file in use. Currently, all customer panel files are set to "AllCalibrated" image persistence for Beta releases. For the official launch, this setting will be updated to "AuditOnly," ensuring that only audit FOVs are preserved.

As a result, the commercial system requires even less storage space.
