Mouse brain cell typing panel (235 genes) gives a median of 60-100 transcripts per cell in 100 um sections; some cells exceed 300 with unique genes counts at 80 ish. Counts depend on panel size and composition, segmentation, and tissue. Similar to 2D spatial assays for panels of similar size. Specificity: negative control probes; FDR is typically 1% or less. Correlation with scRNA-seq reference is generally 0.6-0.7 or higher.
in case of the mouse brain cell typing panel, most of the counts and unique genes detected are from neuron cells which is what the panel is designed for.
