What can I do if my tissue detaches from the Pyxa plate during sample prep?

Tissue that adheres poorly to the plate, such as free-floating organoids embedded in OCT before sectioning, can detach during sample prep. One option is to coat the bottom of the well with Cell-Tak (catalog no. CLS354240), a mussel-derived adhesive protein, before placing the tissue. Cell-Tak makes tissue adhesion independent of surface charge.

In Stellaromics in-house tests, Cell-Tak coating did not affect gel formation or SEDAL sequencing, and coated plates were stable at 4 °C for a few weeks. This approach has not been extensively tested, so validate it on your sample type before relying on it. Our FAS and technical support teams can advise on setting it up.
